Roger C. Tollefsen, degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. He is Recognized by the NYS Department of Agriculture & Markets as a Food Processing Authority and is an Instructor for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration teaching seafood safety including the potential risks of ingesting shellfish from areas experiencing toxic algal blooms. He has served as the President of NY’s Seafood Council, operated a shellfish hatchery and transplant operation and owned several seafood businesses. More

Tanacredi, PhD., in Environmental Engineering (Polytechnic University; presently the NYU Tandon School of Engineering) and is presently the Founding Director of CERCOM at Molloy University which is for the last 22 years the Field Station monitoring Long Island coastal natural resources associated with its ecological health, Horseshoe crab population dynamics, and conservation biology efforts on island/coastal ecosystems. Robert Nuzzi held a Ph.D. in biology and has peer-reviewed publications related to phytoplankton (algal) physiology and population dynamics and surface water quality. He developed and supervised Suffolk County’s surface water monitoring programs during his 30+ year tenure as a Marine Biologist for the Suffolk County Department of Health Services. It is primarily these data that have been used to determine the changes in water quality, which have been used in the SWP. More Information
Jack Mattice, PhD., Zoology, minors in Ecology and Physiology and has peer-reviewed publications related to environmental effects on aquatic and marine environments, He has over 50 years in the field of environmental science and had specialized in molluscan ecology. He has done research overseas as well as across the USA. Most recently he served as the Director of New York Sea Grant (NYSG).
